Football Official of the Year Award
CRITERIA
This award is intended to provide recognition to an individual who has shown outstanding and meritorious football officiating, in addition to dedication, leadership and service, to football on and off the field. The selected individual should represent and support the foundation’s fundamental creed of athletics in concert with scholarship and civic leadership.
THIS YEAR’S RECIPIENT - 2010: MICHAEL KERWIN
Mike Kerwin is 58 years old, married, and resides in Manlius, New York with his wife Patty. The two parents share 5 children between them ranging in age from 32 year old Ryan, a captain in the U.S. Army, to 13 year old Chris who is a 7th grader at C.B.A. Syracuse.
Mike is a graduate of C.B.A. Syracuse, Lemoyne College, and Syracuse University College of Law.
He recently retired as the Chief of Detectives from the Syracuse PoliceDepartment after 31 years. He continues his family law practice.
Mike just concluded his 13th season officiating both high school and college football.

Outstanding Contribution to Amateur Football Award
CRITERIA
This award is intended to provide recognition to an individual whose efforts and activities have been in support of amateur football and the goals of the local chapter.
Throughout the youth league, high school and collegiate playing fields of this country, these are remarkable individuals who work tirelessly out of a pure love of the game and a desire to help our youth play it well. This award seeks to recognize some of these noteworthy contributors.
Specific activities of the individual could range from coach to trainer to league organizer or fund raiser, and not uncommonly all of the above. The selected individual should represent and support the Foundation’s fundamental creed of athletics in concert with scholarship and civic leadership.
THIS YEAR’S RECIPIENT - 2010: Henry Andrew (Andy) Moran
Henry Andrew (Andy) Moran attended Solvay High School and graduated from Manlius MilitarySchool in Manlius, NY. He went on to the University of Virginia where he attended the School of Education and majored in math and minored in economics as well as playing football for the Virginia Cavaliers all four seasons. He graduated in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education.
While in college, Andy met and married his wife Holly. They have four children (Paige, Drew, Mitchell and Michele).
After graduation, Andy moved to Martinsville, VA where he taught high school math and coached football and basketball. Soon thereafter, he moved to Richmond, VA to play semi-profootball while working for the Marriott Corporation. In 1968, Andy hung up his cleats to focus on career and family and moved back to his hometown of Syracuse, NY where he took over his family’s business.
Unable to leave his passion for football, he performed as an official on the high school level for many years. At the same time he also turned back to coaching. Over the years, Andy has been part of the coaching staff of: Pop Warner,Westhill modified, junior varsity and varsity teams. He served as defensive coordinator/linebacker coach of theMorrisville Mustangs for seven years. He also served on the coaching staff of the Solvay modified football team (where he was able to coach his grandson Riggs). Currently Andy is the head coach for the Marcellus Mustang modified footballteam in Marcellus, NY.
Andy is the proud grandfather of eight grandchildren (Emma, Allie, Katie, Riggs, Rebecca, Louie, Zachary and the latest arrival for Christmas 2009 - Jack). Aside from football, Andy enjoys attending his grandchildren’s many games and activities. He has been proud to be a charter member of the National Football Foundation, College Hall of Fame (CNY Chapter) for ten years.

Distinguished American Award
CRITERIA
This award is presented on special occasions to an outstanding American, but necessarily to a former football player. The recipient will be a person who has maintained a lifetime of interest in the game and who has, over a long period of time, exhibiting leadership qualities and who has made a significant contribution to the betterment of amateur football in the United States and to the quality of life for all Americans.

Raised in Salamanca, New York
Attended Salamanca High School, Class of 1972

• All American in Football
• Jersey was retired
Attended Syracuse University on a full Football Scholarship.Graduated 1977
• Played for the Legendary Coach Ben Schwarzwalter and Coach Maloney.
Masters Degree from Cortland College 1987.
Coached at CBA for 8 years before arriving at Baldwinsville.
Head Football Coach Baldwinsville High School 1985 to present.

• 1 New York State Semi Final Appearance
• Named Coach of the Year 4 times
Serves on the Section III Football Committee.
Serves on the National Football Foundation as Chairman of the Junior Combine.
Chairs the All CNY Committee for the Post Standard Newspaper
Resides in Baldwinsville, NY with wife Juliet, has two grown daughters Lauren of Baldwinsville and Justine of Baldwinsville.
Hobbies: spending time with his grand daughter Gianna and scuba diving.
